Journey Beard is a frequent lecturer and has been admitted to practice in all of the Florida State Courts, the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, & Southern Districts, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Prior to attending law school and becoming a lawyer, Journey was selected as a co-captain of the National Championship basketball team at the University of Dayton. Later as a successful college coach, Journey published an article on motivation entitled "Harnessing The Will To Win".

While a law student, Journey was 1 of 7 students chosen to the prestigious American Inns of Court society. Journey also interned as a Prosecuting Attorney, worked as a law clerk for the United States Attorneys Office, and was selected as a judicial law clerk for the Workers' Compensation Appellate Commission.
