The firm was founded twenty years ago in Los Angeles, California by partners Don Steier and Larry Guzin. Their relationship began years prior, in a strong personal friendship that grew during their days together in high school, university and beyond.

After law school in the early 1970's they began their careers as lawyers in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office and the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. As public prosecutors they honed their legal skills by trying hundreds of cases to verdict before trial juries in Los Angeles and throughout Southern California.

In 1984 they decided to join together in the private practice of law in Los Angeles, specializing in representing clients in personal injury and accident cases, business litigation cases, will contest cases, trust contest cases, and criminal defense cases.

Guzin & Steier recently won a wrongful death case in Starr County, Texas, where a jury awarded $80-million against Chrysler Corporation arising out of a vehicle fuel fire, one of the largest compensatory personal injury verdicts in U.S. history.
